Redmond O’Neal Gets More Rehab As He Dodges Prison Time

Redmond O’Neal, son of Ryan O’Neal and the late, Farrah Facet, seems to have dodge prison time while accepting to more rehab in which the judge agreed that he needed additional treatment for his heroin addiction.

Redmond O’Neal
has struggled with a menacing heroin addiction for years which has landed him in heaps of trouble. Now he’s at the end of his rope. “Rock Bottom,” if you will?

Redmond O’Neal pleaded no contest to a felony of gun and heroin possession in a courtroom in Los Angeles and was sentenced to a year of inpatient treatment. Redmond O’Neal will also, be in probation for the next 5 years in which he will have the opportunity to show if he’s once and for all defeated his addiction.

Redmond O’Neal’s attorneys: Richard Pintal and Michael Brewer stated in union: “We are pleased and grateful that the judge gave Redmond further treatment rather than incarceration. His history of addiction warrants this approach.”

It is wonderful that indeed, Redmond O’Neal was granted further treatment instead of prison time. It’s just a shame that less fortunate addicts that can’t afford fancy lawyers are not granted with the same gracious treatment. An addict is an addict with or without a wealthy family and deserves the same opportunity for treatment and a true chance at recovery.

Either way, good luck to Redmond O’Neal on his journey to recovery!
